These services have all been changed successfully through the SQL Server configuration Manager tool - no problem - smooth as pie! Wmi Provider Error 0x8007042b
only one is even startable - the sql server one. Attempting to change the service logon for the SQL Server instance to the Add2Exchange service account results in a WMI Provider error. Hell, I can't even change that policy.

But never, ever, use Local System for a production database server. Thank you for letting me know. Once I changed the service account back to "Local System", all services start up fine again. Symptom This issue arises when the installation attempts to change the service logon of the SQL Server to be the Add2Exchange service account.

Thanks in advance. In my despair, I tried to start "ImagePath" property manually from shell while logged in as administrator, which lets the server start. I can authenticate with the credentials fine on one server and I can manually retype in the credentails from the services mmc and start the service fine. JoinAFCOMfor the best data centerinsights. You cannot edit other events. So I manually punch in the same credentials in the service property and start the service it works.
Note that you can only manage SQL Server 2005 and later servers with SQL Server Configuration Manager. So you are using the special Administrator account, is there a reason, like I said that account comes with both sepcial permissions and restrictions. –Ramhound May 13 '15 at 11:00 add It will also introduce the NULL statement, to show them what happens when no value is giving for any given column.
