- The game now launches and I hear the sound of the game but the screen blacks out and won't display.
- I looked through it and figured as much but attached anyway as maybe I just wasn't looking for the right thing.

I get a message from steam client that theres unknown error while starting xcom enemy within. The symptoms are that the game crash and return to the desktop. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium. I am able to play XCOM Enemy Unkown. To make it easier you may want to close Steam, delete the old log files in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\logs" then try launching XCOM. It is possible that such errors are indirectly related to the lockup, if they lead to bad data being sent to the card.
