They should instead be posted in /r/CivPolitics.
- Upon reading the install instructions (again), I realized my mistake by installing the "Icon" onto the hard drive.
- The game was downloaded from direct2 drive.
- I'm not even supposed to be HERE today!!!

- Soooo I'd guess that Civ4 is just not finding that file on your hard drive for some reason.
Tried to load on G4, and get the exact same error message! I had modified a file, and when the patch was applied, it ran into the modified file and didn't know what to do with it. I have an Nforce 2 Motherboard with the Soundstorm chipset and the Nvida drivers. The time now is 02:20 AM.
Specifically the errors seem to have to do with German and Spanish language XML files, but they clearly ruin the experience for me in English as well.Any suggestions would be greatly I did take a look at q4wine as a possibility but it wants the user to hunt down the wine libs. I'm going to try loading it on my old G4 to see what happens hopefully rule out corrupt disk. While usually in Mac, you install applications by dragging the application icon to the location you want to install to, this seems not to be the case with Civ IV.

I have a lot installed, there are at least 2 candidates I can think of that could mess up the XML setup - Opera and OpenOffice 2.0.
